Brief Description:  Cylinder heads

Removed a small amount of material from the side of the center camshaft journal for additional clearance of the #1 rod end.

Temporarily assembled the case, pistons and cylinders.

Removed excess casting flash from the cylinder heads. I used a thin cutoff wheel to remove flash between the exhaust area fins, and drills and jewelers files to clear passages between the intake ports.

Smoothed the secondary plug threads in the combustion chamber. There is a bit of secondary plug thread exposed in the combustion chamber. Bennett cautions that carbon buildup on exposed threads may damage the cylinder threads when the plug is removed. May need to investigate a shorter thread plug for the secondary plugs.

Note added 8/13/13: here would be a good time to drill/install the #6x1/2" self tapping screws for the CHT sensors if you are using the Sonex recommended type. Locate the holes with the intake sitting in place so you have access to the screws to remove/install sensors without having to remove the intake.

Need to remove the valve assemblies and clean the heads prior to fitting the heads and checking for rocker arm interference with the case studs.
